King Savarrion balanced in the air, an unreadable expression on his handsome face.
For a moment, I could see beyond the easy facade.
I trailed the ridges of stress aging the corners of his eyes. The tension that lined his wide jaw. The crease between his brows that bared the weight of an entire kingdom. His angels
were under the threat of war. His Watchers were fighting and falling. He had to fly beside his warriors while maintaining the morale of his angels. I couldn’t imagine carrying such a load alone.
