Tayurah wasn’t sure how the Seraphim in the dining hall expected her to react. She certainly didn’t think they expected silence. Tayurah lost complete mobility of her tongue. Inside her body, the shadows were stirring, threatening to wreak havoc the moment she let her rising emotions slip.

Tayurah blinked once. Twice. She couldn’t find the words needed to respond. As the sòlsunes illuminated the hall, magnifying the glorious spread of food on the long table, high-lighting the terrifying beauty of the angels in the room, all she could do was stare at this Seraphim.
