Elledelle Games: What In Elledelle Is This?

September 1, 2021

I’ve come to learn, I absolutely love games. Don’t you? The past few weeks have been filled with family traveling in from out of town, and one way we’ve been intentional with spending time together has been by playing games.

My cousin came back home for a bit, and his girlfriend came to spend a few days. She introduced me to the latest Monopoly game called: Monopoly Deal. A game I feel like all teens and young adults should play if they ever want to sharpen their financial wit.

Thinking of how fun playing Monopoly with my family was, it only made sense for me to play a mini game with you.

And by the end, I hope you come to know way more about Elledelle than you did before, and more about the serial series starter: The Crescent and the Ash Queen.

I’m calling this mini game: What In Elledelle Is This?

Since I can’t sit across from you and physically play, imagine I am. Each question in your mind should be like a physical object in front of you – you’d guess of course, and then you’re provided “with a card” that reveals the answer.

What In Elledelle Is This?

What in Elledelle is: Gannubaberrie wine? (Found in chapter 2)

Gannubaberrie Wine, pronounced: gah-knew-bah-berry, can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Made with berries from Gannuba trees, some which can be found in the Brightwood Forest, it’s fused with sweet intoxicants and spritzed off with Minulite magic, angels of the Vèrtu rank.

What in Elledelle is: Parael Bonds? (Found in chapter 1)

Parael Bonds, pronounced: pah-ray-ul, represents an internal, magical bond between Crescents. The bond keeps assassins working in partners, hinders them from going rogue, and provides a safety net and backup for when jobs go wrong.

What in Elledelle is: Weaver? (Found in chapter 2)

Weavers, pronounced: whee-ver, are angels descended from the Cherubim rank. Weavers have a propensity for art, fashion, eclectic, creativity and their magic operates as such.

What in Elledelle is: Defenders? (Found in chapter 2)

Defenders, pronounced: deh-fen-ders, are the police force that are supposed to protect the angels of the differing courts.

What in Elledelle is: Noirlist? (Found in chapter 3)

A Noirlist, pronounced: new-war-list, is like a blacklist. It’s a ledger of angels who owe coin, have crossed a line, have blood on their hands, and increased their enemies with dangerous angelic powers that be like the Ash Queen and the Noirfathers, Gang Lords.

WHOOP. Did you guess them all right before reading the answers? If so, GREAT JOB.

And if you didn’t, now is the perfect time to brush up on some new terms and elements introduced in: The Crescent and the Ash Queen.

I’ll be back next time with another game, perhaps even longer, until then I hope you had fun and learned some more about the unique elements of the Elledelle Universe.

Beautiful world-building in a rich landscape of emotion. I was all over the place – rising in awe of the angelic beings and their vibrancy, recoiling at the horror of war, and plummeting in sorrow over their loss and despair. This book was short and powerful, packing quite a punch of feeling! i loved it. Can’t wait for the rest of this series!
